Bio.
Steve Rastin is senior counsel who represents seriously injured and wronged people with a focus on motor vehicle litigation, disability law, medical negligence and birth trauma cases, and class action / mass tort proceedings. Steve has close to 30 years of experience and had argued cases for clients in the Superior Court, the Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
In 2021, he joined Gluckstein Lawyers to lead the Rastin Gluckstein offices in central Ontario and to assist with complex litigation, serious medical negligence, and class action / mass tort litigation. He is also acting as trial counsel for Gluckstein in cases across Ontario. Steve has acted as lead-counsel in hundreds of serious injury cases and has obtained multi-million dollar recoveries.
It is a point of pride for him that his clients are treated fairly, and he has shown his willingness to go the extra mile for his clients. He is dedicated to helping injured victims recover after suffering an injury and is an advocate for his clients, and takes the time to listen to their concerns.
Steve is an award-winner lawyer who is recognized by my peers in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and is listed in the Best Lawyers in Canada. He regularly chairs and speaks at legal education conferences for the Ontario Lawyers Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and others. He has spoken at conferences throughout Ontario and across Canada.
Steve has also been active in the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, where was past President in 2014. He has also been chair of the Long-Term Disability Section, has chaired numerous conferences, and has intervened on behalf of accident victims in a number of cases at the Ontario Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal.
Steve has been active in his community with the Midland Rotary Club, the Huronia District Hospital Board (where he is a past-Chair), the Midland Police Service Board, the Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre and elsewhere.
