Every year, BIST recognizes the strengths and achievements that different members our community bring to help BIST grow and thrive in three separate categories. This year, BIST added a fourth volunteer category for Top Fundraiser.
- Survivor/Thriver Category
- Caregiver Category
- (The Joy Gilbert Award) - Ambassador Category
- Top Fundraiser Category
Jordan Assaraf of Gluckstein Lawyers is the winner of the 2023 Joy Gilbert Award - Ambassador Category.
Jordan has spent many years volunteering his time to help BIST. He has been a past Board Member and Chair of the BIST Board. He has spent many hours working as Chair of the Golf Committee raising much needed funds for critical programs and activities. He has supported BIST in his attendance at various community activities, our 5km Run, Walk and Roll as well as other Paint Night, Halloween functions and Holiday parties. Thank you Jordan for all of your hard work and dedication to BIST.
The Joy Gilbert Award was named in memory of a long standing supporter and volunteer of BIST and brain injury initiatives in the Toronto area, Margaret Joy Gilbert. Joy Gilbert was a Speech Language Pathologist who worked with many individuals over the years. In recognition of the late Joy Gilbert, the Ambassador award category has been renamed in her honour.
Congratulations, Jordan!
